Biography

Morteza Eshtiaghi

My name is Morteza Eshtiaghi, born in 1979 in Isfahan, a city known for its rich history and vibrant arts. Growing up surrounded by the artistic heritage of my city, I was drawn to the world of visual arts early on. My journey formally began at the Isfahan School of Fine Arts, where I was mentored by incredible teachers who instilled in me a deep understanding of color theory and the emotional power of art. Coming from a family with an artistic background also shaped my path; my uncle, Mohammad Reza Atashzad, a respected watercolor artist, emphasized the importance of finding my unique voice rather than imitating others. His guidance inspired me to experiment with various styles, ultimately developing my signature approach, particularly in watercolor. Over the years, I've grown to combine watercolor with acrylic techniques, allowing me to work on larger canvases and continue evolving my style. My primary medium is watercolor, though I’ve also worked extensively with acrylics using techniques that mimic the fluidity and transparency of watercolor. I love working with the wet-on-wet technique because it brings a unique vibrancy and spontaneity to each piece. My artistic voice is rooted in blending realism with abstract interpretations of nature. I want viewers to feel as though they are part of a dreamscape, free to explore a world that isn’t bound by time or place. This style reflects a fusion of nature’s beauty with the limitless possibilities of imagination.
